In our Summer CSA share this week

We’re getting some HOT weather this week! Hope you are finding some good ways to keep cool. Most of the veggies are fine since we harvest in the early morning. We did have to put the cauliflower in storage, so it may have a few wilty leaves, but should otherwise be delicious. New this week, we are offering a FLOWER BOUQUET CSA that you can pick up at the same time as your veggies. It starts in 3 weeks and all the details are below.

Highlights from the CSA box this week…

  • This Fritata is the perfect way to use onions, garlic, cauliflower & greens that are in your share this week.
  • Fresh crunchy Red Cheriette Radish are perfect this time of year. Try this decadent Radish Butter recipe. It makes a delicious spread, and I often include the greens too.
  • Garlic Scapes are perfect coated with olive oil and a little sea salt then roasted in the oven until lightly cartelized. Then we just eat them as finger food! Or you can chop, sautéed and use in any dish that calls for a mild garlic flavor
  • The Walla Sweet Onions we harvested this week are what we call “spring onions.” This means they are fresh from the field and have not started to dry down for storage. The bulb is often smaller and the delicious greens are included. Use the tops like you would a scallion.
INCLUDED IN THIS WEEK’S SHARE:
CAULIFLOWER
GARLIC SCAPES
HAKUREI SALAD TURJIPS
WALLA SWEET SPRING ONIONS
RED CHERIETTE RADISH
BUTTER LETTUCE
GREEN GARLIC
