Canola in the Willamette Valley

The Willamette Valley is one of the best seed growing regions of the world. Farmers here export millions of dollars worth of seed all over the  world. They also produce incredible locally adapted varieties of broccoli, kale and other brassicas family crops that we depend on. Growing more canola seed here just seems like a bad idea. This editorial in today’s Oregonian by local seed grower Frank Morton explains why.
