In Your Share (July 6th edition)

This week your share may include…

  • Beets: Red, heirloom Chioggia and Golden beets in the mix this week. See recipe recommendations from last week.
  • Broccoli: Nice little heads from one of our favorite varieties – Early Dividend.
  • Fresh Garlic: This is lots bigger than green garlic, but a little different than what you usually see at the store. These heads are almost full size with nice big cloves inside, but they have not been dried down so the result is fresh, juicy bursting with flavor garlic. Enjoy them while they last!
  • Kohlrabi – Tasty and sweet, these can be eaten raw, grated into salads, roasted or sauteed. A very versatile little veggie!
  • Lettuce Heads: This beautiful red and green romaine lettuce will make a great ceasar salad.
  • Mizuna: One of the very most versatile greens – it’s frilly leaves make a very mild salad or are good sauteed.
  • Parsley: Flat leaf Italian parsley is still sweet despite the heat!
  • Potatoes: The first of the season – these Yukon Gold have thin skin and fabulous new potato flavor.
  • Spring Onions: Super sweet Walla Walla’s this week.
