USDA Foreign Delegation at Luscher Farm

USDA Foreign Delegates learn about the Luscher Farm CSA from Farmer Laura

Thank you Oregon Tilth and Oregon Dept of Ag for including us in the USDA Foreign Delegation tour of Luscher Farm! The group included delegates from all over the world and I had interesting conversations with folks from Egypt, Israel, Norway, Denmark, Malaysia, Singapore, and Scotland. I know many more countries were represented as well.

Our Parks & Rec supervisor Jan Wirtz from the City of Lake Oswego started us off with a great introduction to Luscher Farm and Chris Schreiner, ED at Oregon Tilth, gave an informative overview of organic agriculture. After that we headed out to the gardens where Kathy Dang, Program Manager for the Organic Education Center, explained about the Oregon Tilth garden and their educational programs. Finally I took them out into the Luscher Farm CSA fields and we talked about CSA’s and urban agriculture. I know the delegates were impressed with all the partners and the diverse programs offered at Luscher Farm!
